Hi everyone!

I have been investigating porting my game to Babylon Lite (from Babylon.js), and noticed that there is no [GUI implementation planned soon](https://github.com/BabylonJS/Babylon-Lite/issues/409).

So I decided to make a thread here and not flood the issue with comments 😃

My main question is, what is the plan for Lite GUI work currently? For example, my game uses the full screen UI, and the main use case is to have the enemy health bars, player things IN the actual 3d environment. I do also have some panels that have UI’s stick onto them, but these are not super important for me.

If I were to migrate to Lite now, I would have to manually build these things. So for me it would be more viable to stay in the Babylon.js land for a quite long time, if the GUI is unavailable.

Or, have you planned something completely new and exciting ways to build user interfaces?

I just would like some clarifications on the status of this part of the Lite, and where it is heading! Thank you already in advance 😎

PING @RaananW

There is currently no planned work to port the GUI to Babylon lite.

Our plan with lite was to first release a highly performant WebGPU engine that tree-shakes wonderfully and delivers everything Babylon.js core has to offer.

Having said that - I like the idea very much. A revamped version of the Babylon GUI, suitable for modern interfaces. I don’t see why we can’t work to port the GUI library to babylon lite. I believe i wrote it in the github issue (and sorry if I didnt) - we will discuss this internally and see if we have a few cycles to work on that. Will keep you updated.

Bump on this 🙂
GUI is the next step for the small project i’m doing with Lite, sad to hear that it’s not on the roadmap yet!
Nonetheless, keep up the amazing work! I hope we’ll see the GUI port some day 😃

Check [[LITE] Annotator - a Lightweight Annotation System for Babylon Lite](https://forum.babylonjs.com/t/lite-annotator-a-lightweight-annotation-system-for-babylon-lite/63861)

I didn’t touch DynamicTexture yet just because they are quite slow in comparison with GPU TextRenderer.

But, for small projects, one can tailor 3D space GUI in Lite with the help of already existing features.

What are your requirements for GUI?

I already went with HTML for now 😃
Just need some very basic 2D GUI with text and a few buttons for the most part.
I do have a small use for text placed in 3D, but i’ll probably check out the TextRenderer when i get there 🙂

期待Babylon Lite GUI能尽快实现，我们的项目想迁移到Lite版，但是目前卡在了GUI上！
