I’ve been making a little comedy racing game in Babylon.js and Havok and it’s at the point where I’d like other people to break it.
You build a soapbox in a shed - timber, some wheels, cardboard glued on wherever you fancy - spray it badly, then push it off the top of a hill. There’s no throttle. You steer, brake, and tuck the driver down to go faster. Things fall off. Eventually the driver does too.
There’s a daily course, the same for everyone, with a leaderboard where you can watch anyone’s run on your own hill, and a replay with a camera director that’s suspiciously keen on the crashes.
Play it here: https://cardboarder.racing - desktop browser, nothing to install, no account needed unless you want to submit your time.
Under the bonnet, for anyone curious: raycast wheels on a Havok rigid body, slip-angle tyres with a grip cliff, drag worked out from the actual shape you built, paint sprayed onto per-part canvas textures, and a server that only accepts a time if the replay survives being checked against the physics. F3 shows a frame-time breakdown if you want to see where it’s spending its budget.
It’s a prototype. Tell me what’s fun, what isn’t, and what broke. Bonus points for posting your worst crash.
