I would like to use my custom vertex shader with standard or PBR material.
In my search for an answer, I came across a topic dating back to 2015.

> Hi everyone! Is it possible to apply a shaderMaterial on a StandardMaterial? I mean... I have a StandardMaterial with some properties like reflections and fresnel to whom Id like to apply a wave shader effect... How can I do it? As far as Ive seen, to...

But I hope that over these 5 years the situation could change, and a more direct method has appeared?

You can use `CustomMaterial` / `PBRCustomMaterial`:

- [CustomMaterial - Babylon.js Documentation](https://doc.babylonjs.com/api/classes/babylon.custommaterial)
- [Babylon.js/materialsLibrary/src/custom at master · BabylonJS/Babylon.js · GitHub](https://github.com/BabylonJS/Babylon.js/tree/master/materialsLibrary/src/custom)
- [CustomMaterial Samples](https://forum.babylonjs.com/t/custommaterial-samples/57)

Also, PBR is coming to the NME, so it will also be an option when it’s in.
