Recommended dev environment (Windows)

Hey guys,

given that I’d like to use VSCode with Git and TypeScript, what environment would you recommend to develop in?

  1. Native Node.js installation
  2. WSL1|2 with Alpine Linux | Ubuntu
  3. Docker Container
  4. Cygwin
  5. VirtualBox | VMWare | Hyper-V
  6. Separate physical Linux PC
  7. …?

A Docker container with a volume mount to your project directory seems pretty good

Your live code from VSCode would automatically appear in the container due to the mount, and you’d get a consistent build from Docker

Definitely many more options though :slight_smile:
