I’ve been working on a small game with Babylon.js called Traffic Boss.
The idea is pretty simple: you control one traffic light at a busy intersection. Your traffic moves when you open the light, while the cross traffic keeps going. One crash and the run is over.
This such a nicely well executed mechanic and visual polish. Simple but highly effective fun. Zero introduction and I got the goal almost instantly. Beautiful!
Ok first time getting to play it and absolutely first class. Took one run to understand the premise a second run to test that out and a third run is when you are able to just get it and try to play the game. Very intuitive, The one thing id like to see is some more aggressive aliasing though, even if its just a simple 4 tap post. Spent like 15 mins on it well done.
Reminds me of a query I got a while ago, less fun but more useful.
Father of an autistic child asked me about VR training - crossing the road. All kids require training, mostly it’s as simple as holding hands. But autistic kids can freak out on the crossing, and that makes training IRL very hard.
Seeing this, much of the same geometry could be reused for the purpose, possibly good chunk of the code. Technically it’s not a big deal.
But you can’t do that without certified therapist for children. I mean, sure you can, just make sure to never mention autistic children anywhere, or you may get sued when they die in traffic, or just happen to have panic attack in spite of the training.
So, since you don’t, they can’t find it.
Sorry for the rant, but you never know, maybe some therapist reads it…
