I embrace our electromechanical overlords for their willingness to take on all the boring stuff. I didnāt think anyone coded anymore. Donāt get me wrong, I learned BASIC on a C64 and I believe the principles of writing program code are essential knowledge, but when I start dreaming up code for a such n such module knowing thereās a way around all the tedium of it, I shiver and sketch out a flow chart. Then I either find some existing open-source code to retrofit or have the generative Ai plug it in. There are bigger things that need doing.
