LinesMesh "inset"

Hi guys,

I’m trying to figure out how to do create new linesMesh based on a existing linesMesh in a way shown in image below, the black one is the existing linesMesh, and two orange ones are the goal I want to achieve.

This is not just copy of origin lines, as you can see where I marked in red crosses, these lines have different length.

And this is not just scaling of origin lines:

Could someone point a direction for me where to start please?
