Babylon scene appears OK on PC but black in Quest browser

Hi,

I know it’s an old thread, but I just encountered the same problem with a model. It appears really good in all browsers, but not in the Quest one.
This is my head, scanned with Scaniverse on an iPad and saved in glb and/or gltf.
I even saved the texture in PNG, but it stays black on the Quest. Even before entering in the VR mode.
Ok, my Quest is old, it’s the 1 and I can’t update it, but do you always have the same issue, with more recent Quest ?

Thanks in advance, and Happy new year.

I add that I saved it in Blender and it had never been an issue before with my own models created in it.

Hi Damien, I only ever had the issue when the resolution of the model was too high. Once I downscaled the materials of the model, it always worked.

Want to share a link so we can check if it is an issue with the old device (and its old version of the webxr specs) or the model/babylon?

Hello, thanks for your answer.

As you can see, it appears great in all browsers but the Meta Quest one. I bet this is more Quest related. All other models that I created in Blender directly works fine. But not this one, with this kind of texture. I should try to find a more recent Quest to test it, but nobody has one in my neighborhood.

works well on my quest 3

Great. Ok, I think I have to invest.

Recommended. i moved from 1 to 3 - a different world

Yes, it looks like the best VR headset of today’s market. Was there a signifiant leap from the Quest 2 ?

i’ll be very honest and say - I have never used a quest 2
What I can say is that I have a quest pro as well. One huge difference between these two is the quality of passthrough. the quest 3 clearly wins. This leads to different features (like the depth renderer) that are only available on the quest 3. The pro has eye tracking, but as I am mainly using webxr, this is a feature I have never really used.

Performance-wise, the quest pro is MUCH better, but I never had any serious issues with the quest 3

Thank you Jedi master. I’m more interested in Webxr too. And AR is something fascinating, so I guess the quality of the passthrough is of great interest.
