I lead the engineering for a team that’s most recently been working on a casino for a client, and we’ve been using Babylon to make the games more immersive and attractive than the current offerings.
The site just launched in free play mode, and we’d love any feedback you have: bitnile.com .
I was able to access from Canada, but I am using starlink. I’m showing up as SpaceX Montreal, so your geo restriction is not working completely. Ironically Youtube does restrict me as it thinks I am in Quebec…
I worked for a few years in sports betting - we had also geo restrictions. I know they are not much fun and easy to defeat with VPN, but some software detects VPN/VM and won’t run (at least in Nevada).
Was cool to try out some different games. I got a few balls going on Plinko and my fan started getting pretty loud - I have an RTX3060 mobile. Nice work! Cool that you are using React.
Let me play the advocate of the devil here for just this part.
Before I do so, let me make this clear: I’m no fan of these gambling/betting platforms and the tricks they use to make money from their customers (mostly young and inexperienced).
However, and then just from a legal perspective, I don’t believe that (at least ,today) there’s any more need for such a site to implement extended geoloc or user profile based identification of the user.
If the user ‘hacks’ its way through using VPN/VM or whatever, this also implicitely means that he/she is perfectly aware that the site shouldn’t be accessed from this location - likely because it is not matching local regulations. By any means, by doing so, he/she is breaking the contract between the service provider and the customer. In this case, not only the user is entirely responsible and I don’t see which court/judge in any country would make the decision to condemn the company/site with this context… but even beyond that, the site could actually take legal action against the user for making an illicit attempt to access the platform!
Else, @thomas , from a CX and design only perspective, these screenshots look really good. I’m also not able to access the site (without tricks) - and honestly I don’t really want to - but… that’s ok… I myself created a number of solutions for clients for which (vision/objectives) I was just not totally in agreement with… I later stopped with this but it did take a few decades to get there… eventually, we just need to cash the money and keep the relation going. Until we’re lucky enough (or wealthy enough) to choose the people and projects we want to work for. I hope you’ll get to this point someday. As it looks like you’ve got everything it needs to become successful.
By any chance, do you have a version to be playable without signing in with either google or email ? I think it would help you a lot to get some multiple feed backs…
I’m a Google Chrome user, but I eventually use Opera for this. There is an internal VPN that you can enable for free, even without being signed in on Opera. And then you can choose your location
Very handy !
haha. Thanks, yes. Indeed, there is. It doesn’t change anything though for my post regarding ‘legal’. Thus, assuming the ‘terms and conditions’ for the use of the website are written by some specialist, of course …And then. I wasn’t saying I cannot (easily) access the site. I just don’t want to (for the reasons expressed in my post). Again, personal opinion only (I don’t want to judge or anything ). I simply do the things I feel I want to do (and disregard those I don’t want).
