About Job

Our product is currently at a good level. We’re looking for a contract/freelance BabylonJS developer who wants to collaborate closely with us for developing new features and solving some optimization problems. This job is remote, and we want to start with small projects. We want to turn this into a long-term collaboration by mutual agreement.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Tackling optimization challenges in complex scenes with many (+10.000) interacting meshes (roof facade polyhedrons, obstacles, pv modules etc.), ensuring smooth performance across devices.

  • Crafting custom shaders for accurate solar irradiation calculations and dynamic sun-path simulation.

  • Handling CAD workflows: importing/exporting CAD models, maintaining fidelity and performance.

  • Processing and converting 3D point cloud or LiDAR data from map APIs into usable scene assets.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong expertise in Babylon.js and WebGL development.

  • Experience with performance optimization in complex 3D scenes.

  • Proficiency in writing shader code for realistic lighting and solar simulations.

  • Familiarity with CAD file formats and workflows.

  • Experience with LiDAR or point cloud data, especially converting from map provider data.

  • Bonus: Comfortable with frontend frameworks ReactJS & NextJS.

Why Join Us

SolarVis offers:

  • Real-world impact — your work directly supports solar design and decision-making tools.

  • Creative and technical freedom — propose innovative solutions, pilot new shader techniques, workflow optimizations, or data pipelines.

  • Flexible, remote engagement — collaborate with founders & technical team directly, no layers of bureaucracy.

How to Apply & Contact

Please reply to this post or message us with:

  • A brief introduction about yourself.

  • Links to BabylonJS projects or portfolios (especially related to optimizations, shaders, CAD, or point clouds)

  • Your availability and preferred rate structure (hourly or project-based)
