Pause Particle System?

Seems like a simple thing but I can’t find any examples in the forums or even Google.

Is there a way to pause a particle system? I don’t mean “stop” the system – just pause it (when the user presses the game’s pause key, for example) so that the particles just stop moving/animating/whatever.

I don’t think there’s such a function but you can emulate it by replacing the animate function by a void function:

Thanks! I found that setting the “update speed” to zero also works.
