[Showcase] Treasure Planet Style Portfolio (Babylon.js + Angular)

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

I just finished building my interactive 3D portfolio, heavily inspired by the map from Treasure Planet. I built this to push my understanding of WebGL performance and framework integration.

:rocket: Live Site: david-alvarado.com :laptop: Source Code: GitHub Repo

Key Features & Tech:

  • Stack: Babylon.js 8.38 + Angular 21 + TypeScript 5.9.

  • Visuals: Procedural nebula (2,200+ particles) & instanced geometric shield glyphs.

  • Gameplay: Puzzle mini-game with swipe mechanics and haptic feedback.

  • Performance: Angular zone optimizations and adaptive rendering for mobile.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the mobile performance and the Angular integration structure!

Cheers, David

OMG! @D4ve I absolutely LOVE THIS! Treasure Planet is a personal favorite of mine so this just warms my heart! Such an underrated Disney movie!!!

And what you’ve done here is gorgeous looking! Super creative and well done!!!

@sebavan @PirateJC Thank you both so much! I really appreciate the feedback. I’m a huge fan of Treasure Planet too! I’ve seen many portfolios around here, but none featuring this gem from my childhood, so I wanted to contribute my own tribute to it

Well it’s stunning and you should be very proud. Perfectly brings in that sense of childhood wonder that came from the first time I saw that movie!

Well done!
