do you have a photo of a real world example you are trying to emulate?

Trying variations until effect was “Cartoony”.

The surprise was…

great to accidentally instantiate hundreds.

Red is laser. Blue is editableANMPath. White is spacejunk. Black is the Bot.

Something like this?

As long as you don’t have to worry about mirrors stuff like this would be ez

Awesome!

Cartoony Three-ray laser does not have GLOW or ORIGIN-SPHERE (for performance).

But maybe one day…

UPDATE:

Movies in Babylon.js.

Deep~Dives complete.

New thread/project, this FALL.

Hey @Pryme8,

Looking at those RGB Lazers you posted. They are really cool.

  • ambient sphere at origin

  • Ray cast that tapers, and fades into opacity over length.

How to do that in a shader?

It stumps me!

Two verts (with a trick, or… lots of verts? : )

Currently: 3 Rays - just like a Grocery Store Scanner! (it is ok).

Lazers above… better!

UPDATE: not even-close… to finishing DEEP~DIVES.

Recently: BLENDER2BABYLON, then ANMZ, SONICZ, and TXTZ.

It’s hard work. Lucky to DEEP~DIVE shaders 2020! : (

Just deep~dived RIGZ that broke ANMZ! Get to REDO,100th time, aGrumpyFalcon.

Right now: DEEP~DIVE~LAZERS!:

Doin that.

Any tips on Lazer Shaders? Lol…

I’m almost out of time.

I wish I had time to help buddy…

What are you actually trying to pull off? Just a realistic laser effect?

20 different colored lazers from two points… animated around the camera.

Not sure how to think about shading lasers…

ohh if it’s just 20 lasers use tubes and then maybe a glow post effect!

Tubes! (taper and vertex gradient opacity, down the length, makes sense)

Ok, thanks! And will look into glow post effect (in shaders) too.

Thanks for the tips @Pryme8 !
