Arc camera sensibility

Hello!

What the meaning of angularSensibilityX and angularSensibilityY. It works like speed, but usually when we set speed to 0 we don’t moving

In case of sensibility we have to increase the value to reduce speed of camera rotating. How it works? I have situation where I have to dynamically slowdown camera. And amount of slowdown is the calculating value.

So while I dont understand what is angularSensibility and how to work with it I in some type of dead end)

The sensibility properties on a camera control how much the camera moves when the input pointer connected to it is moved. The movement amount is divided by the sensibility property’s value, so as you have already seen, the larger the sensibility value, the less the camera moves. Setting a sensibility property to zero will cause a divide by zero, which is probably not what you want to do. You can get close to zero movement by setting a huge value for the sensibility properties.

Hahaha. Ask @Deltakosh I’m sure he’ll appreciate the running joke :rofl: :grin:. For your understanding, simply try translating ‘sensibility’ (sensibilité) :fr: to ‘sensitivity’ :uk:

I thought that its smth like that. But I wasn’t sure. It’s clear now so I guess I can move forward

This is now part of our history. We will never deprecate that :smiley:

True. It’s now part of the DNA. Removing it and just conforming to the ‘standard’ would make us loose our true identity :joy:… And then, from a design perspective, it adds this ‘french touch :fr:’ which for some reason I cannot quite explain reflects some sort of quality and reputation in the world of design :grin: :rofl:

Can’t agree more :smiley:

Come on guys, I wanna know the story behind this :slight_smile:

You know how some programmers hide a piece of code or give a funny name to a function to leave their mark in the history of coding ? :laughing:…Let’s pretend it is something like that :innocent:… Else, it would be just a bad translation :grin: :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I prefer keeping version one. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: But for whatever it is, it’s now part of the mystery :mage: of the framework. May be some digital archaeologist will dig it up in a century or two , and build a story around it :bookmark: :joy:

It’s parce que in France when we have a doute about the façon an english word is written, we don’t hésite to invent a new version, as close as possible to the façon it would be prononced in French

@mawa @Tricotou @Deltakosh
I worked for PSA Group for nearly 10 years and despite the fact that I like French, it never really stuck with me… so I speak French un petit :smiley:

This one is absolutely epic:
