Babylon file not exporting Mesh Name

Hi all,
I can only read mesh data from GLB and GLTF files:
scene.onPointerPick = (evt, pickInfo) => {
console.log(‘picked mesh’, pickInfo.pickedMesh.name);
}

My exported Babylon files from 3dsmax 2017 show that the 3d meshes are being ignored.

I am testing Blender, but it’s unfortunate since i am getting better visuals using *Babylon.

Should i use a different exporter?

Hello Adam_A

I don’t quite understand what you want to do in the end. I understand that in Babylon you can only import GLB, GLTF, OBJ and BABYLON objects. So when you mention the 3DSMAX format you left me a bit confused.

If you have formatting problems when exporting, have you tried using SandBox Babylon? In it you can directly import the objects you want with the optimal Babylon display and, if you wish, export it again so that it stays in a better format for reuse.

I don’t know if that’s what you meant, but I’ll tell you this in case it helps you with your idea.

The mesh might simply not be pickable, isPickable = false ?

Thanks for your responses - 3dsmax 2017 BabylonJS exporter, doesn’t export babylon files with object names for me, for some reason(??)

Glb, gltf does…

I.e a labeled object cannot be read and set via Action manager. I ended up using pure JS to control the objects.
