Blender hair particle system

I’m trying to create something like the picture with this post. Blender has a great way of doing this with their hair particle system but I can’t get it to export with the plane mesh, even when I convert the particles to mesh and combine them with the plane they don’t show when I export to glb. Is there a way to do this or am I doing it wrong? I have tried looking into Babylons fur material library but I don’t think it has what Im looking for.
