I am fwf, a solo dev who spent much of the past 14months building a 1v1 and 2v2 ranked duelling arena game. I was always passionate about duelling, but rarely have I found games for which it was the main focus, in an isometric setting. The game is inspired by a multitude of games played throughout my gamer life: Ultima Online, League of Legends, Dark Souls, and a few more. It is built with babylon.js as its engine which proved to be extremely capable for the project. My goal was to make this game feel like a Steam game even tho it is fully played on your browser, from matchmaking to the game itself.
As it is with every early multiplayer games on a low budget, I don’t expect the matchmaking queue to be full overnight, thus I encourage anyone interested in trying/testing the game to jump on our Discord and help me grow the game. I would love to chat with you about your feedbacks or suggestions as well!
I just tried and got demolished (gg to whoever murdered me). It would be super nice to have maybe a practice mode or something to get used to the controls before jumping into full PvP?
But it felt great, the rolling in particular was really nice done.
I feel better now losing to the creator And everything felt really good play wise! I was mostly clicking and pressing buttons like a madman trying to figure out how things worked. I played as a guest, so I had no option to see the tutorial in the main page I think?
Wow, this is really cool. Try creating ability effects with babylon.quarks. I think it will really make your game even cooler. Where did you get the sounds and especially the background music?
Thanks! I will dig into babylon.quarks and try to improve those VFX. Music is from BT LOOPS
Jump into the Discord so you can duel another human instead of our AI (it currently autofill with an AI after 12s queue since we don’t have any players yet)
Correct, the tutorial is currently only accessible via main lobby when you sign up. I will probably implement it for guest as well, or have a lighter version of it.
Yes this is definitely a possibility, my aim is to tune everything for single player as this is the main challenge. Hop on Discord, I will let you know once the Boss is up for player testing
