How to realize thermal cloud map?

Hi everyone, this is my first time asking a question.
I need your help.
How do the above two pictures look like they are covered on the surface of the model?

I don’t know how to achieve this, I guess it is similar to the particle cloud map, but I can’t make the effect like the above. . .

Looking at your second picture, it seems it’s only a transparent plane that is displayed as a ceiling over the elements?

Thank you for your reply, but your guess is wrong, the flat one will not have a three-dimensional effect, I have already made a flat heat map。。。。

You will probably need to use a 3d texture with a custom shader mapped to your environment

If you have a live link for the first two screenshots you provided, that would help understand what they are doing.
