Particle Emitter assigned to mesh with armature

Is it possible to have the particle set up in sandbox emitting from the animated mesh, in this case a plane weighted to the hand bone? Currently it’s from the rest pose position not the animated position.

It seems you need to create a mesh that you attach to the bone you want to follow and then parent the particle system to this mesh:
