Right now I’m just loading a whole tiled tmx map into a SpriteMap and moving a camera around but this creates artifacts and shimmering/stuttering. How would you go about moving the camera around a tile map being displayed by a SpriteMap?

Also this will be the last time I contribute to this conversation now but, what you have been fighting with the “waves” is a sampling error caused by the fact its a plane in a 3d space. So sometimes there are fractional float values that get sloppy causing the “wave” that you are seeing. So to fix …

Thank you for taking the initiative on this, I have a thousands fires to put out right now and this was put on the backlog for me.

I also don’t have the time but I will have to look at it in a few weeks. I’ll just be flipping switches if I do look at it.

Ohh, then I might end up getting to it first then! If you need some direction let me know, just PM me and ill guide you on the right path.

Here’s just layer 5 of a map rendering. See how it looks like a wave is moving through it? [Screen Recording 2023 07 01 at 3 35 46 PM] Realized I could replace the shader at runtime. Reduced it to this so far: #if defined(WEBGL2) || defined(WEBGPU) || defined(NATIVE) #define TEXTUREFU…

I’m starting to think it’s something to do with sampling due to there being no mipmaps as it changes with distance.

[Screenshot 2023-07-02 at 10.23.30 PM] Switch tile texture to linear sampling and it’s almost fixed. now there are lines around the edges of the tiles.

In about 5 days I’ll be forced to learn how to dev this and fix it. Hoping the experts come through before then.
