havok’s npm package is called @babylonjs/havok, you can install it and use it in your build pipeline. Documentation coming later today

Yeah that’s the right link. The same demo is actually used to show off both ray marching and tri-planar projection in the node material.

Is the Youtube video’s thumbnail image created using Babylon.js?

No it was created using various art tools including Photoshop, and Firefly.

Huge! Congrats!

So Amazing! Thank you all for your hard work

Would you have recommendations on how we could use Havok Physics in a Web Worker? Like rendering on the main UI thread, but physics in another thread, and syncing the rendering and physics? Thanks again!

What an amazing milestone from a great team and community.

The tribute at the end was very heartfelt by me - thank you. His contribution has been immense and he was always ready to learn and teach.

My sincere congratulations to the entire BabylonJS team for such an impressive job.

Once again, the users are the great beneficiaries of having a creative and powerful tool to carry out our projects.

Of course to the great community that we have created, always willing to help and improve.

Amazing launch! The suspense on that ONE massive new thing was killing me . Congrats on secret keeping, can’t even understand how you’ve managed :). And thank you for featuring Smplrspace in the video. Take care and keep building the best engine AND community.

Yes. I was shocked when I saw it as I didn’t know. It’s a great loss for all of us. :broken_heart:

Would physics engines benefit from compute shaders when WebGPU is available?

@brianzinn and @mawa : Watching that message at the end saddened me too He had been around a long long time helping others

cheers, gryff

Indeed.

JohnK was a key part of this community. Pretty much every single person who comes to Babylon has benefited from his contributions in some way or another.

@RaananW and I had the opportunity to hop on calls with John several times over the past years to discuss documentation improvements. He was a kind and gentle man with a passion for teaching people about Babylon.

The last round of documentation was largely thanks to his work.

Losing John is a sad loss for our community, but we hope that the tribute at the end of the 6.0 release video does a small honor to him and his legacy.

@PirateJC : as I said above JohnK had been around a “long long time”. I remember back in 2015 we both competed in one of the “challenges” that @RaananW used to run on the old forum - it was fun

He is a loss. I will remember him

cheers, gryff

Hello. Sorry to bump the thread. I meant to post here earlier, but got side-tracked with the Babylon.js 6.0 release. :slightly_smiling_face: This recent post reminded me about asking my question: what happened to JohnK (John King)? Did they retire, move on to other projects, or pass away? (I hope it isn’t the latter.)

Unfortunately it is the latter :frowning: It was a great loss to the community and of course his family and close friends :pensive:

I just wanted to pop by and say a thank you to the team for honoring my father at the end of the release video as well as the kind words people have spoken about him on this thread, it means a lot to me and the family. Every time I visiting him he was always excited to chat about Babylon.js and his involvement with the project so it’s amazing to see him honored like this.

Also congratulations on the release
