Compatibility of Babylon.js with HoloLens 2 and WebXR

Hello everyone,
I’m working on a project involving the visualization of a digital twin in mixed reality, and I plan to use the HoloLens headset.
I’d like to know if Babylon.js is fully compatible with mixed reality experiences directly in a web browser.
Has anyone here already tried using Babylon.js with a headset like HoloLens or through WebXR?
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi! @RaananW is our WebXR guy and will be able to help answer - he is on vacation right now though so expect a bit of delay

Babylon.js is fully compatible with mixed reality experiences in web browsers that support WebXR. The Meta Quest browser has the best support for WebXR. HoloLens does not fully support WebXR. Some of the early features were implemented, but I don’t think there have been any updates for a while.

Adding to what @docEdub said - Hololens has a few WebXR issues that they are not going to fix. It is sadly not a priority of the team handling these issues.
So sadly, I can’t recommend using Hololens and WebXR. If there is a specific experience that doesn’t work and you can share it, maybe we can find a workaround for the hololens, but if it is a fundamental WebXR issue, we sadly can’t provide any proper solution.

I came across an older conversation where someone mentioned that WebXR was working properly on HoloLens. Is that actually true? Has anyone here successfully tested a WebXR experience on HoloLens recently, especially with Babylon.js?

cc @bghgary who might have more precisions on this.

I saw this already, but unfortunately, I don’t have additional information.
