Hello guys , Im fullstack developer based mostly on javascript related technologies.
After two years working and playing around on small BBjs own projects, I decided to move to game development.
Please contact me if need any developer for an existing crew or want to start from zero on some game development team.
I have no problem on taking some evaluation if needed , also for starting project there is no rush on earning money with this, just want to participate and enjoy BBjs.
regards.
Hey im interesting in collaborating as im trying to build a game myself too with shooting and rpg elements (sci-fi themed).
Are you available on discord then we can plan a meeting if you are interested.
yes , sure we can meet on discord, google meet or any other.
lets wait a few days just in case we can add other dev to the meet.
I will contact you to schedule , thanks !
Yes sure, makes sense to wait a few days.
I already have a concept of the basic game but need to refactor code ofc. and change assets maybe.
Im also in contact with a potential modeller who can help.
Lets keep in contact
Hey @Leandro_Roggerone
Theorically I would be interested, but problem is, I already have DOZENS of projects in parallel, I need to stop starting new projects
One of my already started projects is a BabylonJS game, that I plan to publish on Steam using electron. I’m currently building the Steam page, to open wish lists (Even if the game itself is far from being finished). As soon as the Steam page is done, I will create a topic here on the forum
@Tricotou , it also happens to me … dont worry … I also take coding as a lifestyle more than a job, that is why in this ocation I choose to learn for free instead of continue working on boring database-backend-frontend tipical application to administrate something.
Lets keep in touch and share what you have done so far, perhaps I can provide a little testing feedback.
Leo.
To be honest, I count on ALL the members of this forum to provide the testing feedback
Hello @Leandro_Roggerone,
You may add me to the list.
But be aware that I have the same problem as @Tricotou
Another problem is that when I start to think about creating my game I end with creating some tool (like https://glb.babylonpress.org/) intended for better game creation
If this is gonna become a game dev studio, I want in, too
That might be cool , atm its just a hobby project and who knows whats gonna happen if people are interested enough.
I also have alot of projects at the same time hehe.
For example a car configurator unfortunately its not with babylon js.
Im atm making a art gallery with scroll trigger in babylon so will post it soon.
Why not ???
and @labris or @Tricotou, it would be an honor to build something with you.
Perhaps , we can work on some idea and then since you have a wide expertise on BBjs , you would provide to the rest of the team some tickets or tasks to work on.
Im thinking about a game with a lot of sci-fi and physics included.
Hi everyone!
I’m also interested in creating a game using the awesome Babylon.js framework!
Right now, I’m working solo, but I think it would be great to build a small community of game developers around Babylon.js.
I’m open to join an existing game project, to work with motivated people on mine (the game idea is still evolving), or even just collaborate to create some part open source tools for example.
I was planning to write a more detailed post later, but since I’m already here:
I’m currently developing:
- a custom ECS in TypeScript (SOA-style, field-by-field), independent from Babylon.js,
- a Babylon.js game SDK and some development tools,
- a map editor (Angular 19 + PrimeNG 19) (sorry, I broke up with React since v18…)
- and a game (a mix of Tower Defense / RTS / surviror) using RecastJS, full thin instances (+VAT), no physic, dark fantasy style
- 100% typescript, private monorepo for now
I plan to open source some parts, and eventually release the game on Steam (probably using Electron).
The architecture is already split between a server and a client to support multiplayer in the future.
Even if people prefer working on their own games, it could still be useful to share tools, frameworks, game design ideas, etc.
I used to work as a full-stack developer (with Kubernetes and all), so I’m still learning game development, and it’s super refreshing!
Is there any Discord channel where we could discuss and share ideas about Babylon.js game development?
That sound like a cool idea.
I have made a discord server for a sci-fi game so everyone is welcome there.
Perhaps i will change the name later so we can have different tabs for ideas and games etc.
@Leandro_Roggerone Im making a concept for a sci-fi game with full physics havok and first person too.
Other people outside of this forum will also join, some are three js devs but they have some good shader skills.
Since shaders can run on both three js and babylon js only some small things needs to change to port some over so it should not be a big problem i ques.
After reading last messages , Im thinking about next basic steps:
1 - Introduce the team members.
2 - Define the game/project to be developed
3 - Name a coordinator.
4 - Define basic stuff like tools, architecture , repo, libraries , and so …
5 - Distribute some tasks.
6 - Begin working.
Please let me share my idea:
- Create some sci-fi character (borrowed from mixamo if possible) walking throw some basic obstacles or dangerous challenges.
- Create a game history.
- The game history would be divided in multiple mini-scenes.
- Each game level would wrap one mini-scene.
- Each game level , should take some BBJs feature to accomplish current level goal.
Eg:
Level 1:
On 3d environment, the character need to jump over some moving platforms to reach the end of the path without falling into lava.
Level 2, 1st person camera view , character needs to shoot some tarjets and scape from room on given time.
Levels should be loaded according to progress on a lazy loading fashion.
Well … I need to continue working on my borring job, see you.
That sounds good to implement also platforming.
In my game prototype i also make use of mini scenes with each its own objective for example:
1: kill enemies
2: find items
3: find and destroy objects
This is also randomized then every time you load the level.
And so are enemies and loot.
As for tech and tools i use github, gsap, webflow and babylon ofc.
We can brainstorm on this what we can use and what not.
I love the ‘randomized’ idea , I forgot to mention.
Hello!
Can I join the team?
I have some ideas about building a game using Babylon.js, soon I’ll share it here.
you already are a team member …
@phinpho For sure you are always welcome to join us
