“Space.” Babylon 5? Get it?

@PirateJC : Yes, I do. I vaguely remember the series. I took a look for models of the Babylon 5 ship but they were all in the 1/2 million vertices range and with no textures - so I made my own in Blender 3.0 and GIMP. The whole scene is just 10,000 verts and that includes the two planets.

The Babylon 5

Three basic “hull” textures were created with Filter Forge , the planet textures are from “Textures for Planets” - the “Inhospitable” pack. The remaining textures were created by me in Blender 3.0 and GIMP. The skybox textures I made over 5 years ago when my grand daughter was born with Spacescape

Anyone wishing to use the scene for the Babylon 5 special day - as I don’t have social media accounts - please feel free

Hey @gryff ive been trying to get spacescape to compile for months now, can’t reproduce the limited success I had through my incorrect cMake/c++ incantations. You wouldn’t happen to have this working to the point of being able to share, would you?

Ed: btw, this is some cool stuff!!

Sorry, @jelster , I installed it on my old Windows XP computer years ago (7years?). And that machine is out of commission and I don’t remember what I did. It would be nice to get it working on modern PCs as I believe an update makes it possible to now export HDR files.

Exactly why I’m interested in it! :sunglasses::+1:

I wonder if the Linux distro build is easier to get running, now that there’s WSL w/ GPU support…

@jelster No idea, but let the community know if you succeed with Linux.
