Babylon.js 8.0 Release - Call for Community Creations

Howdy Wonderful Babylon Community!

We’re hitting the ground running this year, already in full prep-mode for the release of Babylon 8.0!!! Which we’re aiming to release in late March!

That means it’s time to start the process of pulling together the Babylon 8.0 release video!

Every year, the big annual release is the biggest marketing moment of the year. We celebrate each release with a special “announcement video” for the new version of Babylon. We try our best to make these videos big, bold, and exciting and we want you to be a part of it!

Each one of you is an important part of this community and we like to take this moment once a year to show you how much we appreciate you and what you create with Babylon.js, by including some of your Babylon.js creations in the release video.

If you have made something with Babylon.js in the last year, then you can submit your creation to be considered by simply replying to this thread with a link to something you’ve made with Babylon.js.

The submission deadline is Feb 28th 2025!

Please note that due to the length of these videos (2-3 mins) and the number of submissions, we may not be able to include every submission in the video.

Check out last year’s release videos to see where/how community submissions are featured!

You might find a demo of a terrain-based extension for Babylon.js that I worked on here. It leverages new WebGL features, such as 3D textures

If It’s decent enough than I’ll be happy to submit with my ‘game’.

I think currently the most decent video from game is this:

Hi, Babylon.js community!

I am a physics teacher, and in 2024, I started a project to create a series of casual physics simulations using Babylon.js, targeted at mobile browsers. Over the course of a year, I developed a total of 7 simulations. Each one explores different features of Babylon.js and different physics concepts, offering its own unique gameplay.

With this work, I concluded that Babylon.js is an incredible tool for the agile production of casual physics simulations, combining performance, flexibility, and ease of use. I believe these simulations can be a great representation of the potential of Babylon.js for educational projects and interactive simulations.

You can check out all the simulations on my website: Física Games .

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this initiative!

It’s that time of the year :tada:. Congrats to the team.

Smplrspace continues to grow with more advanced dataviz like heatmaps, integrated data on whole buildings, and floor plan based reporting software for non-technical commercial real estate professionals.

Website: https://www.smplrspace.com/

I think the “crispiest” visuals would be our heatmaps:

but we’ve also got a variety of examples in this demo:

and the reporting UI for users here:

Would love to see our progress featured :). Happy to provide highres version if needed.
Take care.

Hello Dear Babylon,
we had the pleasure to produce an artwork for and with John Gerrard, which is a (solar) - year long performance of a robot producing patterns in form of glas/ice crystals.
The work is called crystalline work, which is running on the platform feralfile.
All the produced patterns are stored and can be aquired as artworks.
We were very pleased to work with babylon (again) as it made it possible to realize the vision of the artist.
Please find the link here>

Hope you like it, feedback is very appreciated.
All the best and thank you soo much.
Werner

Still very much in early development, but here goes: Sci-fi Rogue

If using this, please title it: SCIFIROGUE.COM (will be working on basic website next week)

Also lemme know if you need better quality footage - the forum only allows me 8MB upload, so ended up with YouTube instead :slightly_smiling_face:
