Hi everyone,
Please see https://playground.babylonjs.com
As far as I remember, left mouse button rotated, right button panned and mouse wheel zoomed. But now all buttons rotate.
Best wishes
Joe

looking!
@Joe_Kerr looking at previous playground versions, freecamera always rotated with both right and left click/drag. ArcRotate had the pan/rotate differentiation. You can test different versions using playground.babylonjs.com/?version=9.0.0
As for me, I have no working keyboard control in the default PG.
@labris Looks like a bug with canvas attach (if i click on canvas keyboard then works) – looking into it ! Thanks for reporting
@labris actually that seems to have always been the behavior as well (looking at older playground version) – are you seeing something different?
As far as I remember there were arrow keys enabled for FreeCamera.
For me currently the default PG is quite useless because there is no zoom available at all.
@labris I can make a change to freecamera to introduce more useful defaults, however I do want to first confirm that the behavior you see now matches old behavior.
Can you test an older version playground.babylonjs.com/?version=9.0.0 and report whether you experience different behavior? In my testing I am seeing the same as now.
Keyboard is enabled, just requires a click on the canvas first. And I agree not being able to zoom default playground is annoying (I ran into this when testing my most recent .babylonproj work, kept changing it to arcrotate to allow for zooming
)
Once verifying that it isn’t a regression, I can check with team about adding the new functionality!
I believe the keyboard control disappeared before Babylon 8.
Once upon a time there was a proposal to use ArcRotate camera for the default PG. Seems it has more sense and is more convenient to users. Anyway most of the time every of us changes the FreeCamera to ArcRotate and sometimes it is annoying.
I change it 95% of the time to ArcRotateCamera ![]()
It doesn’t work for me anyway. All I have is to remember Babylon 5 era when it worked
and change the camera to ArcRotate.
Oops, sorry, could have sworn. I accept punishment of your choice ![]()
