New to the team!

I’m super excited to have recently joined the Babylon.js development team, and wanted to share a link to my blog post where you can find out a little more about me (including the backstory on my username). Please @mention me for anything input related, and I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the forum!

Congrats. I guess I can say I’m already happy with this move of yours :grinning: So, you come from MS with a 20-years experience… and your first project’s around video/multimedia in BJS. :yum: …I already have a number of ideas/suggestions/feature requests for this  :joy:

Lately, I started to try use BJS as a ‘pseudo’- real-time video editor/interactive experience. Attempting things (edits/fx) I would usually have done in AE or such. Along with some real-time interactions triggered by the user (or based on events triggered by things like i.e. ‘the analyzer’)…
I have to say it remains very painful at this moment to implement timed scripting fx or interaction from a video. At least, it was for me (but may be I’m just not very good at it  :face_with_hand_over_mouth: …Anyways, 'nearly thought of creating my own version where you could I.E. start from and tag/retrieve a timecode in a video in a preview. I also had problems with the ‘kind of related’ sound object in BJS. Things like ‘the analyzer’ do not work from a video stream and require a sound object. Problem is some browsers (bloody Safari, of course  :grimacing:) don’t let you create a sound object straight from the video stream. I know @RaananW was working on a new version audio and as for the video, I kind of remember @docEdub mentionned some ongoing work for improving this part. I bet having one more committed to the project will be welcomed by all… starting with me  :+1:

Neat ^^

Can’t wait to see your work on web-based videos ! One of my first “pro” usage of BJS was a virtual show room of our Las Vegas CES booth, I had done a FPS viewer where one could walk through our demos, showcasing 3D screens with (different) video textures all running at the same time like a TV wall… It was quite CPU consuming, and I always thought, I hope one day this can be optimized…

See you soon on the forum, then !
