Babylon.js 6.0 Release Video: Community Submissions

It’s still early days and this demo has some rough edges but hopefully, it’s starting to look interesting and the upcoming Babylon 6 announcement made me take the plunge and actually share something.

This video is of a fly-by over a voxel/ signed distance field landscape, it rebuilds and upscales the mesh of the terrain as you get closer and also allows the environment to be interactively modified. It’s working reasonably well even though there are lots of opportunities to improve the performance.

The edge rendering is a bit buggy but it’s mainly there so you can see what’s going on with the meshes. Eventually, there’ll be more natural textures, though the ‘Tron’ aesthetic is always appealing. :robot:

Demo video of fly over a voxel/sdf landscape

This is the foundation of my passion project SpimeScape which is an attempt to build a fully editable, distributed (no not on a blockchain), VR-enabled, metaverse platform… you’ve got to aim big haven’t you! :grinning: :rocket:

Hello there,

My submission is a sub-system of PlanetBuilderWeb where you can create objects using voxels

Thanks and have a nice day !

Hi guys,

One more question. So the deadline is tomorrow - but should we sumbit by tomorrow or is tomorrow ok too?

I’m still working to make the app look better and I wanted to start recording tomorrow. Just want to make sure I’ll make it just in time!

Don’t worry, I believe there’s still time until you see my clumsy unfinished piece of spaghetti art appear in this thread  :. Likely to happen tomorrow around 10pm  But given the quality of what I can see here, let’s just say that my expectations aren’t too high  What about yours?

Yeah the qualities of submitted projects are very high. Mine won’t be even finished, it’s still in development but finally it started to look promissing. Now Im quickly trying to patch the ugly parts of the project. Well at least I will finally have something to record a promo video for the project, so that’s a good thing.

Yeah, same for me. I wasn’t ready with my first project for 4.2, wasn’t ready with the later for v5 and I’m still… well (guess what )
I’m afraid the pace of this thing does not match with my old bones and ‘lazy me’ posture :joy: 'Still cool to see how the others perform with it (amazingly). I’m also eager to see what YOU will be able to pull out in your promo video :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: In any case, GL with your project and have a great day :sunglasses:

Here there is a clip of my mobile game Reptilian Revolution.
It´s still work in progress but the experience with Babylon is being super so far.
Good performance (even if the models can be optimized a lot) and a super easy api to work with, let’s see what v6 brings

This is way too cute @Herrero where can we try ???

Goofy Soccer 2 was developed last year.

Infinite Overtake was 2 years ago.

I developed both of the games using Babylon 4.0.2. Because the file size was small (2mb only).

I hope you like them

Hello!

This year I worked to make my worlds more accessible by adding Xbox controller support.

You can try it on PC or Xbox One/Series S/X

BabylonJS works very well on Xbox with Microsoft Edge with 40-60 fps on the first Xbox One and almost all time 60 fps on Xbox Series S.

So grab your gamepad :video_game: and try it on virtualworlds.fun

Thank you very much.
I’ve deployed it here, but it’s still a work in progress:

The game is for mobile, so it looks better through the mobile emulator.
UI is done with Svelte, and the physics engine being used is Rapier.

Mobile mockup

At TileDB, we have been working on a point cloud viewer using BabylonJS and TileDB Cloud. The viewer can load an infinite number of points and uses both the BabylonJS point cloud system and the solid particle system to render these points.

The video is a preview of mini demos we have created with publicly available LiDAR datasets. Each dataset ranges from 20 million to 55+ million points, and these datasets are available via TileDB Cloud. In this recorded demo, BabylonJS is embedded in a React application, but the viewer is also available in our hosted TileDB Cloud Jupyter notebooks. TileDB Cloud efficiently stores and manages the array data and the viewer retrieves the points with no additional indexing.

We will be making the BabylonJS based viewer open-source shortly.

If selected and you want us to reshoot anything then happy to do so.

Hey there, just in time for the deadline for submissions for the showcase.

I posted the sandpit link in my previous post but now the full website is live for techflowmarine.com :grinning: :grinning:

At Clay10 we like to do things a little differently and that’s why we love Bablyon. Our in-house 3D team created all the models and materials before our developers created this interactive website.

Techflow Marine Ltd primary focus is on the design and manufacture of hose handling systems as well as supporting the expansion of the offshore market. We developed an offshore map for users to explore as well as using Babylon for all the product renders within the website, to bring them to life.

We’d love to know everyone’s feedback :grinning:
