At the moment shadow maps grid always fight light source.
in my case, I have a cubic world, so it looks awkwad most of the time.
Would there be a way to have a setting to lock the rotation of the map?
This is a similar question to your other thread. It would be good to get a playground so we can help you solve it.
Hello!
I separated the two, because even thought the other one seems to be an issue with my setup,
this is the expected visual for my settings and this is more of a feature request for an additional setting allowing to lock the rotation of the map
Gotcha. Pinging @sebavan who is out of office until next week.
In the meantime, can you provide a playground? That will still help us understand your scenario.
For sure,
Please take a look at : https://www.babylonjs-playground.com/#1A3M5C#67
As you can see, shadows would be looking perfect if they didn’t have a 4 degrees rotation on the base pixel grid
Can you explain what you want it to look like? I’m having a hard time understanding what you mean by 4 degrees rotation.
Thanks for the picture. That helps a lot. I’ll have to defer to @sebavan for the solution (please be patient as he is on vacation until next week).
Thanks you very much!
Unfortunately we do not have anything helping to solve this in our shadow tools. I guess in this case cascaded shadows would help as well annd we plan to have them in 4.2
